Expanding on Actias


Actias was the first game I worked on (not counting whatever this is). I made it during my freshman year of high school, and over the years, this and many other projects have gravitated toward me. When I initially worked on this game, I knew it was special. Even though it isn't fully fleshed out, the characters and lore are something I wanted to expand upon. So, let's start with what I have planned.

The Story

I plan to expand the story with some changes. I want to add internal struggles and some form of sibling component. I'm not going to spoil anything, but I have something cooking. The overall plot line will still consist of Suraci being chosen to seek light, but I want to ground the plot to make it seem real.

The Gameplay

I have a few ideas in mind, but one thing is for certain: NO COMBAT!! There will be some danger, but combat will not be added overall. Games like Alan Wake, Rime, Ori and the Blind Forest, Gris, and 2D Mario and Sonic have inspired me and should give you a hint about what I wanna do for this game.

Development

I plan on using the Unity Engine instead of the Godot Engine for this game, mainly for efficiency, and for the fact that it's a mostly established engine. I don't have any budget yet, mainly for the sake that it's a passion project but if I'm able to, I will set up donations that help support the development of the game.

I plan to post here and on my socials to help document and hopefully reach someone willing to help me on my journey. I sure hope this goes somewhere.
